GTalk Spreading Virus via Automated Message [ Alert ]

From last two days I’m getting a chat message from some of my friends, And the message was like this “I just got a new piercing I can’t decide if I like it or not. What do you think? ” and there was a link to a file named MVS-NewPhoto20.JPEG.zip. It was containing a virus called backdoor.Win32.Agent.riu its also known as Trojan.Delf.PKZ. The message was send without the permission of owner. Please DO NOT click on the link. It downloads a ZIP file which contains a virus.

If you accidentally extracted and clicked on exe ??

It will try to connect to remote servers without your permission and send your ip other personal network details to remote server. It Will infect your Gtalk and hack your passwords and hijack your contact list. Sends viral messages from your Gtalk ID to your friends, relatives and so on.

how to overcome this?

  • Change your Gtalk password immediately and log out Gtalk.
  • Do NOT click on any unauthorized link which you get from your friends in gtalk.
  • Use a updated Antivirus to search the registry for corrupted entries by the virus.
  • Scan the whole computer for one last time.
