Yahoo launched a new tool for its searches – Search Direct. Search Direct is live on the official Yahoo Search Page. This search feature that tries to find answers before you finish typing.
Yahoo says that how this compares to Google Instant “They’re very different products. We’re focused on provided answers, not links. Google Instant is focused on providing more links, faster. Not answers. We believe the next generation of search regardless of whether it’s on the web or mobile, they’re looking for answers, not links.â€
Yahoo says that this will be eventually be available on the iPad, where they say it will be especially useful. This isn’t available yet and will look different when it does launch. Yahoo’s Direct Search currently covers top trending searches queries such as TV, movies, sports, weather, travel, stocks and shopping categories on Yahoo.com, but will spread to Yahoo’s other sections including popular music and local listings.
