Nikon Coolpix S800c Android Powered Digital Camera

Nikon has just unveiled the new Nikon Coolpix S800c Android powered advanced digital camera, which comes Google’s Android operating system. The first camera from a major market player to be completely based on the Android mobile operating system. It’s come with a 16-megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS sensor, the new camera is with 10x optical zoom (25mm to 250mm), 3.5-inch OLED touch screen. Running on Android 2.3. Also allowing users to use applications like Instagram.

In built GPS helps you to Geo-tag and upload all your photos to the popular sites like Instagram or Twitter, and also inbuilt WiFi so you can access and transfer images to your smartphone or tablet. Also Google Play Store is available for full support to all the Android apps. By using handy WiFi network you can upload your photos to Google drive or any other online storage media.

The Nikon S800c has 4GB of built-in storage with 680MB for apps and 1.7GB for images, the rest for the Android OS. Also option for add an SD card for extra storage. This camera operates in two different modes. For taking pictures you need to use Camera mode, and when using the Android apps you need to use Android mode. You can switch between the two modes from OLED screen. Nikon S800c asks you to confirm that you want to switch to Android mode also you can easily switching back to Camera mode requires with a single touch.

The Coolpix S800C Digi Cam expected to hit US stores in September and have been priced at US$350. Pricing and availability for the countries will be confirmed at a later date.
