Samsung Galaxy Tab Android Tablet

Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 Android tablet at IFA in Berlin. The first available iPad challenger in the tablet market.  The Samsung Galaxy Tab is powered by Android 2.2 and features a 7-inch touchscreen. Other features of the Galaxy Tab include Cortex A8 1.0GHz CPU, 3 MP Camera with Auto-Focus and LED Flash, 1.3MP front camera for Video Telephony, 16GB memory, Gyroscope sensor, Geo-magnetic sensor, Accelerometer, Light sensor, 3G HSPA connectivity, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0. Samsung GALAXY Tab will be launched in Europe in mid September, and in other markets including Korea, the US and Asia in coming months. This means US consumers will not see the Galaxy Tab most likely in 2010.


Galaxy Tab Applications

The Samsung Galaxy Tab will have full access to the Android Marketplace along with Google Mobile Services, including Google Maps and Google Maps Navigation. The Galaxy Tab will also ship with a Readers Hub, powered by Kobo eReading. According to Samsung, this app consolidates e-reading applications such as eBooks, magazines, and newspapers.
