SMTP and POP3 Settings For Different Mail Services

To access emails in your desktop client you need to setup your e-mail account with programs that use Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) or Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP). POP3 and SMTP are Internet protocols that let you retrieve e-mail from an e-mail server to your computer. POP3 and SMTP e-mail programs provide basic e-mail functionality. With a properly configured e-mail client with SMTP and POP3 settings, you can now send and retrieve e-mails from one central location, known as a “mailbox”.
