According to reports at TechCrunch and nytimes, Facebook will be releasing an email service to compete with Gmail, Hotmail and all the other web based email services. On Monday a press event scheduled, will announce a web-based email service basically @facebook.com email addresses for everyone.  The team at Facebook is calling this the “Gmail Killer.â€
Facebook has invited reporters to a press conference on Monday, but has refused to say what it plans to announcement. Facebook declined to comment on any unannounced communications services. TechCrunch first reported on Friday that plans to release new communications services at the Monday press conference.
Last month Facebook users started export their contacts from Facebook into a service like Gmail, Google last week blocked Facebook from allowing users to import their Google contacts directly into the social network. Facebook e-mail service puts a competition with Google and others.
